Welcome to the world of amazing Tibetan Incense

When I first got married, my husband was into burning Nag Champa incense sticks. However, after burning a few of my favorite Tibetan sticks, he quickly came to realize just how much better these are than any other incense. For the past many years, we have exclusively burned Tibetan incense sticks, with the exception of using smudging bundles to purify the air.

Whenever I see someone selling incense, I’m almost always disappointed that I can’t find any of these. Even the ones I buy on Amazon frequently become unavailable, so I’ve checked the links below to make sure they’re still good.

This Winter, I started burning these as much as possible to purify the air and to prevent anyone in the house from getting sick. So far this year it’s seemed to work!

We keep 1-2 varieties of sticks always sitting on our dining table, along with a lighter to make it easy to use. It also makes a colorful table arrangement, along with some flowers.

I keep the longer sticks for the weekend when I’m home longer, or for a meditation longer than 30 minutes.

If you want a basic, standard, and also shorter set, I recommend either of these Tara healing sets:

Many of the varieties I have bought in the past are now no longer available, so if you want to try a wider range, I would highly recommend these. I’ve bough it twice already and love the packaging designs:

Also on the table is the incense holder to catch the ashes. The great thing about Tibetan is that it doesn’t have a stick in it, so the ashes just fall into the holder. I like to use rice as an easy, cheap way to keep the stick upright.

On the sides, I have the smudging bundles that I got from one single kit. It includes white sage, flower sage, cedar, Yerba Santa, and Palo Santa. I had never tried Palo Santo before, which comes from a highly oily tree found in the South American rain forest, allowing it to produce aromatic smoke.

You could try to grow and dry your own sage and cedar, but they did a great job drying and bundling, so I’ll stick with these. I also like the bundle which makes a nice arrangement around the Tibetan sticks.

I usually keep several boxes in reserve – so now I need to go shopping for more!
